The point is that the dialogue WRITER felt the need to constantly bring it up, like they thought having a female protagonist was something impressive and everyone playing the game should be amazed by it. I'm not going to cite specific examples, despite amazement being expressed by varying degrees of surprise by just about every character in the game, because that's not the crux of the observation. This is not an assumption you should make, the one who could have misunderstood what is being conveyed could be you.
